Beaver_ Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ann Powell Nelson, 70 who died late Wednesday in Iron County Hospital at Cedar City of a heart ailment, were to be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in the Beaver First-Thrid Ward chapel, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Burial was to be in Mountain View Cemetery under direction of Southern Utah Funeral Home.
Mrs. Nelson was born in Upton, Summit County, July 19, 1879, a daughter of Joseph Frederick and Mary R. Stephens Powell. She moved to Beaver with her family 23 years ago. She was married to Charles Eric Nelson at Upton. Mr. Nelson died Feb. 16, 1948.
Surviving are seven sons and daughters, Mrs. Rose Lee, Mrs. Della White, Mrs. Veloy Ashworth, Marvin and Joe Nelson, Beaver; Mrs. AlleneGentry, Denver; and Alburn Nelson, Santa Ana, Calif.; three sisters: Mrs. Berthia Anderson, Grantsville; Mrs. Aff Caldwell, El Monte, Calif.; and Mrs. Sybil Staley, Upton; two brothers: Wilber and Joseph Powell, Coalville; 25 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
