Glenda Steelman Wright, 63, of Ripley, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 at her son's residence. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 PM Sunday at Garner Funeral Home in Ripley. Funeral services will be 2 PM Monday at Garner Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Woodville Cemetery.
Born September 6, 1950, she was the daughter of William Glenn and Emma Ruth Russell Steelman and the granddaughter of Samuel Sylvester and Lora Burlison Steelman.
A graduate of Brownsville High School, she had been an employee of Farmers Union Bank, Bank of Ripley, and was currently employed by the Lauderdale County School System at Halls Elementary School. She was a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
The widow of Johnny L. Wright, her husband of 33 years, she is survived by her parents Mr. and Mrs. William Glenn Steelman of Woodville, a son Lee Brandon Wright, daughter in law Cary Buchanan Wright, and grandson John Hayden Wright of Nunnelly, TN.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
