W.G. "Hap" Vincent received his nickname from his maternal grandmother because, as a child, he was always "Happy." At his funeral, men who had worked with him for nearly 4 decades had never known him by any other name. His given name, "Wilburn" was from an uncle on his dad's side who was killed when a tree limb fell onto a horse Wilburn was riding.

Hap was loved by his family. He was a good husband and father of 3 sons (still living) though he always wanted a daughter and loved his two oldest granddaughters as if they were his own.

He was a man of many talents. He could repair most anything he set his mind to. He had such a massive vocabulary his family often "used" him as a dictionary since he often knew the correct pronunciation and definitions of obscure words not found except in the most complete dictionaries.

His love of the people of Mexico is legendary having made at least a dozen trips there before his death. He was most fond of the Estrada family of Zimapan, Hidalgo and often took them gifts when he visited.

Though his loss is mourned by those he left behind, he will be remembered for generations for his love of family and generosity to those who needed it most.

His family would like to thank Cousin Caroline Feist for the love she has for her Vincent cousins and ancestors and for creating, maintaining, and sponsoring so many family memorials.
