Thomas P. Johnson, 42, of RD 1, Box 135, State Highway 49 died Sunday morning in Millville Hospital he was a patient for five weeks. He had been in declining health the past three years.

Born in Fairton, he was the son of Anna Carney Thompson of Fairton and the late Paul T. Thompson** [See note below]. An area resident all his life, he had resided at his present address the past five years. The husband of Alice Fowler Johnson, he was a 1961 graduate of Bridgeton High School and shortly after graduation he was drafted and served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Johnson had formerly been employed as a brick mason but for the past eight years was employed as a truck driver for Wheaton Cartage in Pennsville. He was a member of the Brick Mason's Union and an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing.

In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by a son, Thomas P. Johnson, age 12, at home, three sisters, Lorraine Pierce of Quinton, Elaine Cuff and Marie Jones, both of Bridgeton, and. five brothers, Warren and Robert Johnson of Fairton, Allen of Marlboro, Garry of Millville and Wayne Johnson of Bridgeton.

Services will be held from the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Garritt W. Kenyon, pastor, of First Assembly of God Church of Millville, officiating. Interment will be made in Fernwood Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday morning one hour prior to the services.

"Tommy's obit was a mistake calling him a Thompson, they ran a correction in the paper, I think I have one that is corrected. Jeremiah Thompson was my Mother's second husband."
