Alice married Nov 18 1880 to William Emery Lighter, Son of Jacob Henry Lighter and Sarah Anne Strickler, in Iowa. Children: Roy Bertrum, Phillip J., William Earl, Sarah Jane, Curt Nelson, Ray Kenneth, Ruth Elva, John Ralston, Frederick Ellis and Grace Alice Lighter.

Mrs. Wm. Lighter and son, of Kansas, were calling on the Misses Langdon and other old friends and neighbors in Grundy Center last Thursday. Mrs. Lighter came to Grundy county with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Ralston, and settled on a farm in Felix township in the spring of 1867.

She married Wm. Lighter, son of Jacob Lighter, who was an early resident of the Alice neighborhood. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Lighter went to Kansas forty-four years ago and they came back this summer to see the old familiar places and faces and visit thier brother, the only remaining member of her immediate family beside herself, J. M. Ralston, of Marshalltown.
