My relative, my notes & research and transcribed as headstone reads. Grave is now almost over grown with grass. Angie & I had to dig it out.

Husband is still alive as of March 1860 as there was a public sale on the Plantation near Washington Bridge. (Opelousas Courier dated Feb 25, 1860

Joseph Lacomb is deceased by Dec 28, 1867. Theodule Fontenot filed a petition to be appointed Administrator of the Estate of Joseph Lacomb, deceased, late of the Parish of St Landry. [Opel Courier dated Jan 4, 1868. (I believe this is Joseph Cephas who died 9 Oct 1867 at age 35 yrs)

She is buried in the yellow fever cemetery. This is a small cemetery that is fenced in but has no entrance name. It was known as the "Old Cemetery" before Cedar Hill ("New Cemetery") was used. Many victims of the 1853 Yellow Fever epidemic are buried here.

Her name on headstone is Anthelmie. Her name in Father Hebert's books is recorded as Marie Arthemise Richard.

Lacombe, Joseph 28 yrs old (Charles & Sarah Bores) m. 6 May 1833 Arthemise Richard, 18 yrs old. (Opel Ct Hse.: Mar. #30).
