Cheryl was a 1st Lt US Army
Cheryl Carter Simpson, wife of Jerry Simpson of Pulaski Co, Ky, passed away July 21 in the University of Cincinnati Transplant Clinic. She received a two-year degree in nursing in 1976. After working in various hospitals, she went back to school & graduated from Eastern Ky University with a BS degree & worked for student health on campus for 20 years. She was a very dedicated nurse who loved working with students, especially those who had just left home for the first time.
With the leadership of the Church on the Rock ministry, she gave her heart to the Lord seven years ago. Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Robert C Carter of Berea. She is survived by; her husband; her mother, Lucy Spivey of Berea; three sons, Chris (Regina) of Waco, Jeremy (Kim) of Somerset, & Corey & special friend Emili Bruner of Georgetown; three grandchildren, Ciara & Ashlee of Somerset & Katelynn of Waco.
Cheryl was laid to rest at the Tyner Cemetery in Jackson, Co, Ky beside her grandmother on Tuesday, July 24, 2007. Memorial services were conducted at the grave with Pastor Mark Sarver & Associate Pastor Darnell Hill presiding. Lake Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
