By the information you posted on George's birthdate and location, you may have him confused with a George Montgomery from Orange County, NC, born 1786, all the census records show your George born in South Carolina. Hope this helps some.

George Montgomery Will
I George Montgomery being of sound mind and memory do make this as my last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills by me at any other time made.
! st, I desire that all of my just debts and burial expenses be paid out of any moneys on hand or may come into the hands of my Executors.
2nd, I desire and give to my son William O. Montgomery my Gray mule.
3rd, I desire that my Executors sell all of my property both real and personal and that the proceeds be equally divided amongst all of my children,
William O. Montgomery, Mary A. Adams, T.V. Montgomery, Caroline Roberson, S.J. Montgomery, Sarah E. Hill, R.C. Howley, and G.W. Montgomery.
4th. I desire that T.V. Montgomery and S.J. Montgomery be appointed Guardian for my son William O. Montgomery and to take in hand his effects and to care for him during his life-
5th I appoint and T.V. Montgomery and S.J. Montgomery as my Executors - this April 11, 1877,
