Mr. Carter was the son of the late Clyde Carter and wife Estelle Bradshaw Carter. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gussie Gurganus Carter of Day Spring Assisted Living in Wallace; two daughters, one son, one sister, five granddaughters, two grandsons and three great-grandsons. He died at Duplin General Hospital at age 77.
