DARLINGTON — Bernice Craft Blackmon, age 79, died Friday, December 7, 2007. Funeral services will be held in Mechanicsville Baptist Church at 2:00pm on Sunday, December 9, with burial following in the church cemetery, directed by Belk Funeral Home.
Born in Lydia, SC, Bernice was the daughter of the late Ben and Ethel Hammond Craft. She was a devoted house wife and loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Blackmon was a member of Mechanicsville Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, David Blackmon, two sons and daughters-in-law; Roy and Maggie Blackmon, James and Janet Blackmon, Jr. all of Darlington, three grandchildren, a brother, Ben Craft of Florence, three sisters; Eunice Hines of Florence, Margaret Anderson of Darlington, Iris Clark of Concord, special friends Louise Geiger, Kay Sheally, and B Martin.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Olie Mae Pack, Dorothy Stempien and Ethel Woodham
The family would like to say thank you to the nurses and staff at the McLeod Hospice House for all of their kindness and support.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 Saturday night at Belk Funeral Home.
