Mrs. Anna J. Bame, 74, of 1029 Logan St., Murphysboro, died Tuesday night in St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro after an extended illness.

She was born in Clarksville, Tenn., July 12, 1897, the daughter of Daniel and Catherine Rawlings Mayfield. She was married March 22, 1908 to Fernando Bame, who died in 1958.

Mrs. Bame was a member of the Centenary Methodist Church.

She leaves daughters, Mrs. Helen Will of Cottage Hill and Mrs. Herman Lee Jr. of Murphysboro; sons, Raymond of Ava and Earl of Chicago; brothers, Orren Mayfield of Hesteria, Calif., and Albert Mayfield of Flint, Mich.; sisters, Mrs. Emma Johnson and Mrs, Ruth Fritz, both of Murphysboro, and 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Crawshaw Mortuary Chapel in Murphysboro. The Rev. Louis Purcell will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
