Gifted Painter and Decorator Died.
Death came last Friday to one of Ord's leading interior painters and decorators – Frank Joseph Fryzek, 81. Fryzek died suddenly at his home. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Ord Methodist Church with the Rev. Allan Martin officiating, assisted by Lad Kvetensky.

Born in Czechoslovakia, Fryzek came to America in 1906 and after a few months in Omaha came to Ord where he worked as a hired man for a year before taking up the trace of painter and decorator he had learned in the Old Country.

Fryzek took an especial interest in Bohemian Hall and periodically he would renew murals on the walls without recompense.

He had an unusual faculty of "walking a ladder." That is when he wanted his ladder moved in order to further his painting he would "walk" it over somewhat in the same manner stilt walkers do. Most painters would descend to the floor and move the ladder by main force. He was a member of ZCBJ Lodge #14 for 50 years.

Fryzek married Bessie Fier in Ord on August 25, 1910. In 1918 they moved to a farm and lived there until 1929 when they came back to Ord. He followed his trade until 1956 when he retired.

Seven children were born to the Fryzeks, who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last fall. Survivors are Mrs. Fryzek, five sons, Frank, Jr. Greeley, CO, Jerry, Omaha, and Joe, Vencel, and George of Ord, and one daughter, Bessie Burson of North Loup.

Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, and a brother and sister living in Czechoslovakia.

Burial was in Ord Bohemian Cemetery. Hastings-Pearson Mortuary in charge. Pallbearers were Ben Maly, John Horn, Frank Benda, Emil Zikmund, Joe Ruzicka, and Alfred Burson.
