Word has been received that Bernard VonderHeide, a former resident of this city, died last Sunday at his home in West Point Nebraska, after a six weeks' illness, due to paralytic stroke. Mr. VonderHeide was born in Quincy, and resided here for 32 years. He went from Illinois to Nebraska, where he followed the trade of a tinner.

His wife, Mary, died in 1895, but he is survived by five children: two daughters and three sons, all of West Point; two sisters: Mrs. Mary Walter and Mrs. Samuels of St. Joseph's hospital, Joliet Illinois; two brothers: Joseph and Ferdinand, both well known here.

His age was 56 years, 3 months and 12 days, and he was a member of St. Nicholas branch, W. C. U.
