John L. Allen, Sr., father of John L. Allen, Taylor County Health Administrator, died Sunday night at 9 o'clock at the Veteran's Hospital in Louisville. He had been a patient at the hospital for eight weeks. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 11 at 2 p.m. from the Sutherland Funeral Home in Springfield with burial in the Springfield City Cemetery. Survivors, besides his son, include his wife, Mrs. Carrie Allen of Springfield; four daughters, Miss Leona Allen and Mrs. Joe Mattingly of Springfield, Mrs. Leon Crume of Orlando, Florida and Mrs. Leonard Comstock of Lebanon. Also one step-son, Robert Cravens of Bluefield, West Virginia and one brother, Rue Allen of Louisville.
