The daughter of Jack Thomas "Duke" Loyd and Shirley Vernee Robertson, "Cindy" lived with her family in Wood River, Madison County, Illinois.

Cindy suffered from a very difficult illness for 3 years. She was hospitalized at St. Louis Children's Hospital 6 days before she passed away there at the age of 5 years, 3 months and 14 days. Doctors reported that her death was the result of "brain degeneration of unknown causes."

Cindy was survived by her mother and father; 1 sister; her paternal grandparents, Ira R. and Dolly M. Loyd of Roxana; and her paternal grandparents, John and Bernice Robertson of Wood River.

Visitation was held after 5 p.m. on 25 Feb 1965 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. It was continued the following morning until 11 a.m. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. that afternoon at the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints.

Another sister was born after Cindy's death.
