GALENA, KANSAS: Janet Lee Canady, age 61 passed away at 10:03 am Friday, March 1, 2013 at her home following an illness.
Janet was born September 10, 1951 in Joplin, MO. Her parents were James Alvin and Ruby Thelma (Foust) [Craig] Canady.
She was a lifetime resident of Galena.
She has been disabled for many years, but she used to work in a meat packing company.
Her favorite pastime was caring for her pet dogs.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald Ray Frazier, Heston, KS, and James Wendt Brewer, Webb City, MO; two brothers, Richard S. Craig, Baxter Springs, KS, Williams Edward Craig, Russell, KS, one half-brother, James Alvin Canady, Galena, KS; 6 sisters, half-sisters, Donna R. Smith, Galena, KS, Carol Pierce, Galena, KS, Thelma Farquire, Longmont, CO, Linda Savage, Riverton, KS, Juanita Phillips, Ft Scott, KS, and Patty Mayfield, Louisville, KY; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Stephen Lee Brewer, one half-brother, Max Canady, and 4 half-sisters, Shirley Mills, Phyllis Kerr, Virginia Ipock, and Marie Pierce.
She was entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS for cremation. No services are planned.
