FATHER OF DR HUGHES DEAD
Meredith Childers Hughes Jr, 85 years old, died last Friday, April 1 at his home in Booneville, Ky, following a short illness. Mr Hughes was born at Green Hall, Jackson Co, on September 10, 1847. He married Miss Nancy Bowles in 1867.
Mr Hughes is survived by three daughters, Mrs Sarah E Strong, Mrs Laura J Spence, & Mrs Maud Brewer, all of Sturgeon, Ky & five sons, William N Hughes of Green Hall, Ky, James I Hughes of Vicco, Ky, Dr Henry A Hughes of Richmond, Ky, John J Hughes of Campton, Ky, & Dr Robert L Hughes of Richmond, Ky.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev George Seale of Major, Ky & interment was in the Rock Springs Cemetery with Masonic rites at the grave.
