Rev. T.L. Cate Funeral Today
Services Will Be Held At Bluff City At 1:00 O'clock This Afternoon
Rev. T. L. Cate, pastor of Bluff City & Chinquapin Grove Baptist Churches died at his home at Bluff City, TN at 12:30 yesterday morning. He had been ill a little more than a month. He was one of the best known and ablest preachers of Upper E. TN. He was 59 years old and is survived by his wife and five children as follows: Mrs. A.H. Day of Knoxville, E.J. Cate of Maryville, TN; Mrs. F.J. Wolford of Blountville; Paul and Miss Helen of Bluff City. He leaves three brothers, J.E. Cate of Knoxville, Willis and Columbus Cate of Texas; also two sisters, Miss Cora Cate of Knoxville and Mrs. Allen Bryan of Sevierville, TN.
The funeral will be conducted at the Bluff City Baptist Church at 1:00 o'clock Eastern Time today. The services will be conducted by Dr. R.L. Roper, D.D. ____ of Johnson City; Rev. J.B. Thomas of Bristol; Rev. R.E. Corum of Johnson City and Rev. ___ Johnson of Bluff City. The pallbearers will be selected from the deacons and members of the two churches of which he was pastor. The flower bearers will be selected from the young men and ladies Sunday School Classes. After the funeral service, the remains will be conveyed to Blountville, where they will be laid to rest by the side of a deceased son in the Blountville Cemetery.
