Bertha Underwood, age 74 years, wife of Johnnie Underwood, of the Otter Creek community, died at 5 p.m. Saturday at her home following a long illness. She was a member of Otter Creek Separate Baptist Church. She was the mother of ten sons and seven daughters. Surving besides her husband are four sons, Claude Underwood, Campbellsville, Star Route, and Eugene, Wilson and Cecil Underwood, all of Louisville; five daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Thompson of Buffalo; Mrs. Elnora Atherton, Mrs. Shirley Sheeley, Mrs. Eveline Ferguson and Mrs. Opal Brewer, all of Louisville; 52 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. The body was at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville until the funeral. Funeral services were held Monday at Otter Creek Separate Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.
