Obituary:
Died.
Raifsnider - On the 17th day of December 1883, in Monroeville Allen county, Ind., Solomon Raifsnider, aged 68 years, 6 months; and on the 20th day of June 1884, Eliza Raifsnyder, wife of Solomon, aged 73 years 2 months and 9 days.

Solomon Raifsnider and and Eliza McGaughey were joined in marriage June 22, 1837. For many years they have lived in Monroeville, Ind., winning to themselves many very warm friends. Many years ago they became member of the Evangelical Lutheran church, and were able to give testimony to the worth of a religion that could bring comfort to them in sickness as well as in health. They passed away as they had lived, in the triumphs of a saving faith. They were blessed with a fine family of sons, who were constant in their kindness toward a good father and mother. The wives of these sons were to these parents faithful daughters. When the father died the mother was slowly but certainly following, hence the feeling on the part of the children to wait the preaching of a sermon until death had finished the work of breaking up the old home.

The sermon was preached by Rev. A.J. Douglas last Sabbath, at the old home of the deceased, where a large and sympathizing crowd had gathered to give Christian burial to all that remained of a good christian mother.
Rev. John P. Nash assisted at the funeral services.
A special train over the Ft. Wayne road; conveyed the remains to Lindenwood cemetery, Fort Wayne, where they were placed in peaceful rest, earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust.

The bereft have the sympathy of a large community of friends.
