Carlos Metcalf of McKee, Ky was born June 25, 1916 in Jackson Co & departed this life on Thursday, May 23,2002 at the Marymount Medical Center in London, being 85 years of age. He was born the son of James W & Lillie Strong Metcalf.
Carlos is survived by his wife, Rena Johnson Metcalf of McKee & by three daughters; Carol Madden & her husband, Jimmy Don of Greyhawk, Pat Williams & her husband, Roger of Carlisle, Oh, & Nancy Harris & her husband, Richard of Alpharetta, Ga. He is also survived by a sister, Oma Vasko of Kansas City, Mo & a brother, Robert Metcalf of Bethel, Oh. Carlos was blessed with 6 grandchildren & 9 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Carlos was preceded in death by a brother, William & two sisters, Alma Metcalf & Dorothy Hoskins. Carlos was retired from Jackson Co RECC, a veteran of WW II, & a member of the Flat Lick Primitive Baptist Church but he had attended the McKee Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, May 26, 2002, at the Lakes Funeral Home in McKee, with Rev Shawn Madden, Rev Noel Dodson, & Rev Ron Maharrey officiating. Burial followed in the Tyner Cemetery. Lakes funeral home was in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers were; Chad Madden, Brad Harris, Aaron Harris, Tony Smith, Rick Hays, & Don Vasko. Honorary pallbearer was Jared Smith.
