John Francis Brown Sr. of Laurel died Oct. 25 at Laurel Regional Hospital. He was 81. Born Jan. 25, 1924 in Dayton, he was the son of the late Carl and Irene O'Neil Brown. He was a forklift opertor with General Electric. Surviving him are his wife, C. Viola Sisk Brown; three daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and George Blyth, Charlotte and Craig Cavey, and Kay and Larry Wentzloff; two brothers, Paul Joseph Brown and Henry Brown; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, John F. Brown Jr. The Rev. Sandra Taylor presided over services.
