He married Anna Bullock, dau of Stephen and Mary Horton Bullock, April 18. 1794. Daniel, Anna and their family resided in the house with his parents along with his 2 brothers. He and his two brothers, Elisha and Moses, all died in 1803 from a contagious disease contracted while unloading a West Indian vessel at Bristol, RI.
Like his ancestors, he took a lively interest in the military. At the young age of 15 he assisted his uncle, Capt. Joseph Barney, who was an aide in the quartermaster's dept of General Sullivan's army in the campaign against the British in Rhode Island, in the care and transportation of horses and forage. He later became a Capt of a military company in Rehoboth, as both his father and grandfather had been before him in Swansea.
