Glenna Simmons Butler, 84, of Harrisonburg, died Thursday, July 19, 2001, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital, after a short illness.
Mrs. Butler was born Oct. 31, 1916, in Moyers, W.Va., and was a daughter of the late Arlie and Lou Dora Propst Simmons.
She was employed in food service at James Madison University until her retirement. She was a member of Otterbine United Methodist Church.
On July 16, 1950, she married Ernest S. Butler Jr., who died April 27, 1998.
Survivors include one son, James G. Butler of Singers Glen; two sisters, Zelma Willis, Harrisonburg; and Ruth Costanbader, Indian Head, Md.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Glen Langston will conduct a gravesideservice at 3 p.m. Saturday, at Woodbine Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. this evening at the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home.
