Orval Harold Smith, 59, of Sarnia, died at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Born in Tilbury East Township, Mr. Smith had lived in Sarnia since 1942. He was employed at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 530, was a member of IOOF 126, a past Noble Grand; the Miniature Harness Racing Club; was a member and trustee of Dunlop United Church and a veteran of the Second World War.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Louise, daughters, Mrs. Douglas (Linda) Stapleton of London, Miss Cathy Smith at home, son, Donald R. Smith of Strathroy, grandson, Christopher Stapleton of London, father John McCallum Smith of Dresden, sisters, Mrs. Harry (Margaret) Pepper of Windsor, Mrs. Norman (Eleanor) Jinkerson of Tupperville.
The funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m., with burial in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
