In the book "Farm Lanes of Bentinck" there is some family history information on the McCallum family. "About 1846 the McCallums came to Bentinck from Lower Canada. John McCallum (1833-1912) pioneered the farm and married Ann Morrison (1831-1923). Their family included eight children. In the 1891 Census for Bentinck Twp. Isabella age 26 is still living at home and works as a Tailoress.
On June 27, 1894 she married Donald Smith. Together they raised 5 sons.
