21 Mar 1950: Edwin T. Gerberich, of Jonestown Route #1, Swatara Township, retired farmer, church organist & chorister, and a descendent of one of Lebanon Counties pioneer families, died this morning at 2:15 o'clock at the age of 85 years. Death occurred at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Mae Basehore, with whom he resided at Jonestown Route #1. He suffered from a complication of ailments, but was seriously sick for only a few days. He was born in Union Township on August 25, 1864, a son of Daniel and Kathryn (Basehore) Gerberich. He belonged to Wamer Lutheran Church near Indiantown Gap where he was organist and choirmaster. He was the last of his immediate family of which he was one of 13 children. Surviving are the daughter, Mrs. Basehore, at whose home death occurred; and two grandsons, Eugene G. Basehore and Mark R. Basehore. His wife Sarah (nee Singley) died in 1916. Interment in Walmer Church Cemetery. [Lebanon Daily News]
