Ralph Hartpence succumbs Sunday

Ralph L. Hartpence, 76, of Chandler, died December 25. Services were Wednesday at 8 a.m. in the Curry Funeral chapel, Chandler. Funeral was also conducted Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Sayre in the Baptist church. Rev. Henry Swinney of Chandler officiated at both services. Burial was in Sayre.
Ralph Linton Hartpence was born October 5, 1884 in Mount Gilead, Ohio to Willis E. and Elva B. Hartpence. He came to Oklahoma in 1930 and settled in Sayre. He was married to Lela B. Disler in December 1, 1931 in Sayre.
He was converted in August 1932 and joined the First Baptist church in Sayre.
The family moved to Chandler in January, 1945. He was circulation agent for the Oklahoman & Times in Chandler and Sayre and also operated a hatchery in both towns.
His parents, three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Survivors are his wife of the home; his step-son, Lloyd W. Disler and family of Tulsa, one brother, W. Everett Hartpence of Sayre; one sister, Mrs. Bessie Merle Leonard of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, many nephews and nieces.
