Albert's stone is still standing among the old unreadable stones in the back of the small cemetery.

As of 3-12-2014, Albert S. ODOM, son of Benjamin Franklin ODOM, Sr. and (2) Louisa Jane DOUGHERTY, died age 18, Cannon Co., TN; buried Odom Cemetery near Auburntown, Cannon Co., TN.

Albert was one of 3 Odom brothers that was hearing impaired. He was a one-time student at Tennessee School for the Deaf, Knoxville, Tennessee. Albert, age 18, died at home. His brother, Alton, also a student at the Knoxville school, received a letter telling of his passing from "brain and heart disease."

Tombstone inscription reads: "ALBERT S. ODOM * BORN * FEB. 22, 1865. * DIED * MAY 23, 1883"
