Jessica was born on July 14, 1995, in Rockford, the daughter of Jason Byrd and Joanne McKean. She was a junior at Ohio High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society. Jessica was an animal and music lover and an over achiever. She was a member of 4-H.
She is survived by her father, Jason Byrd of Marseilles; her mother, Joanne (Scott Stephenson) McKean of Ohio, Ill.; five sisters, Mellisa Anderson, serving with the U.S. Navy in Norfolk, Va., Stephanie Anderson, serving with the U.S. Army at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., Brittany Lampson of Ohio, Ill., Breece Lampson of Ohio, Ill., and Hannah Byrd of Buda; her maternal grandparents, Robert and Norah McKean of Earlville; her paternal grandparents, Kathy Byrd-Smith and Keith Smith of Streator; one niece, Delilah; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Cremation rites were accorded. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut with the Rev. Eldon Cook, pastor of Walnut Community Bible Church, officiating. A time of sharing will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established in her memory.
