Nookie lived with his sister and her husband, Dorothy and Everett Hunt for many years before going to live with his niece, Debbie Merrill and her husband Rick in Jay for 15 years. For the past year, he was a resident of the Victorian Villa in Canton.
His favorite hobby was collecting and sorting returnable bottles and cans and cashing them in. He also enjoyed sitting on the Knapp St. wall with neighborhood friends, listening to the scanner and keeping Debbie informed of all the happenings and listening to radio broadcasts of the Red Sox and local high school sports. His greatest pleasure however, was time spent with his family Dot, Everett and all of their children and their individual families.
He is survived by a sister, Mary Wilson of Peru; nieces, Debbie Merrill, her husband, Rick of Jay and Millie Brown and her husband, Larry of East Livermore; great nephew, Scott Brown, his girlfriend, Patty Hastings and her son, LJ of Chesterville; great niece, Amy Byrne and her husband, Harry, V of Bethany, CT; great-great nieces and nephews, Mike, Christina and Korin Brown of Jay, Harry, V and Avery, I of Bethany, CT; several other nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, Archie and Dorothy King; his sisters, Dorothy Hunt and her husband, Everett, Abbie, Maddie Goding, Annie Belanger, Etta "Diddy" Cox and Beverly Nichols; brothers, Archie "Jr." King, III and Palmer King.
