Funeral services for Mrs. Roland Elkin of Wall Lake, Ia. were held on Friday, Nov. 11, 1977 at 12 o'clock at the United Methodist Church in Wall Lake with the Reverend Richard Viney officiating at the service.

Mrs. Elkin passed away on Nov. 7, 1977 at the hospital in Sioux Center, Ia.

Helen Fern Swartz was born at Estherville, Ia. on Dec 11, 1911 [sic]. She spent her youth and attended school at Estherville, Ia.

In October, 1936 she was united in marriage to Roland Elkin of Estherville. They engaged in farming and several years lived in Excelsior Township. To this union four sons were born. They retired from farming in 1973 and moved into Wall Lake, Ia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son Larry Lee.

Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Estherville and the following served as pallbearers: Dean Anderson, Wendell Anderson, John Elkin, Ronald Elkin, Jerry Opelt and Wayne Salton.

Karen Reiter was the organist and accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lee Willhoite who sang special music.
