Obituary: The Times Reporter, New Philadelphia, Ohio Xavier Grezlik Uhrichsville - Xavier "Zeke" Grezlik, 67, of 89440 Plum Run Rd., Rd 1, (Monroe Township), died Sunday in Twin City Hospital at Dennison after a brief illness. Born at Amsterdam in Jefferson County, he was a son of the late Frank A. and Anastasia Seneski Grezlik and resided here since 1942. He retired in 1985 from Bowerston Shale Co., where he was employed 38 years, and was a pony-pull competitor in fair circuits. Surviving are his wife, the former Jessie Pauline Huff, whom he married Aug. 7, 1948; a son and three daughters, Ronald W. of RD 1, Rose Marie Kilpatrick and Mrs. Rob ( Saundra Sue) Eckhardt, all of here, and Mrs. Roy W. ( Anna Mae ) Abel of Dennison; two brothers and three sisters, John and Mrs. Walter (Antoinette "Aggie" ) Babaryk of Bowerston, Frnak of Fairfield, Mrs Stanley ( Helen ) Bodziony of Garfield Heights and Kathryn Lamatrice of Amsterdam; and five grandchildren. Two brothers are deceased. Services will be held Wednesday at 3 in R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison with Rev. John Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Longview Cemetery at Bowerston. Calling hours are Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
The obituary in the Carrollton paper had his name as John X. Grezlik, his name was never John. It was assumed that the writer must have known his brother and thought that it was him. As for the obituary in the Times Reporter, his fathers name was not Frank, it was Anthony. They were not known to use middle names in their family. Only one child in the Anthony Grezlik family had a middle name and that was Katherine Rose (Grezlik) Lamatrice.
