Stephen "Steve" Ladd, 81, of Dawson Springs, died Sunday, May 22, 2005, at 5:31 p.m. at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
A U.S. Army World War II veteran of the European Theatre and employee of Wyman and Gordon Ford Shop of Harvey, Ill., for 39 years where he was a hammer operator, he was born Aug. 2, 1923, in Caldwell County, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hewlett Ladd. He was a member of the Princeton VFW Post, the American Legion Post and Landmark Apostolic Holiness Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ladd; an infant daughter, Gayle Ladd; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Gay Ladd Krenkel of Lowell, Ind., and Sue Ladd Caputo of Quinlan, Texas; five grandchildren, Tina Gaddis, Tammy Harber, Wade Anderson, Dawn Anderson and Todd Anderson; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bertha Ingram of Dawson Springs.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 26, at 12:30 p.m. at Landmark Apostolic Church in Dawson Springs with the Rev. Robert Akers officiating.
Burial will follow in Ladd Cemetery at Otter Pond.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be members of the Princeton Chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs is in charge of arrangements.
