In recognition of her meritorious service and gifts to the Catholic church, Pope Pius XI, in 1928, conferred to her the decoration of ‘Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice’, and the papal cross was received at elaborated ceremonies in St. Peter’s church conducted by the Rt. Rev. Joseph Schrembs, bishop of Cleveland, attended by Msgr. Joseph Smith, vicar general of the Cleveland diocese and Msgr. J.M. McFadden, Chancellor of the diocese.
