He enrolled on the 8th day of 1862. He mustered in on the 16th day of July 1863 at Peach Orchard, KY. After serving 3 years, he mustered out at Louisville, KY on the 15th day of September 1865. William married Tempy Blanton, and had Five children: Martha Bolen, Mary K. Bolen, Easter Bolen, William Wheatley Bolen, and John F. Bolen.
