HONDERICH, Madeline Passed away surrounded by her family at Lisaard House, Cambridge on Tuesday, February 19, 2013. Madeline resided in New Hamburg and was born 77 years ago in Kitchener. She was daughter of the late Arthur and Esther (Forler) Schaaf. Beloved wife of the late Calvin Honderich who predeceased her August 7, 2012. Loving mother of Steven Honderich of Wilberforce, Mark and Christine Honderich of Guelph and Dean and Christine Honderich of New Hamburg. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Jodie and Daryl, Brooke and Andrew, Nichole, Zachary, Claire, Cassandra, Natasha and great-granddaughters Mackenzie, Madison, Alexandra and Lily. Remembered by her brother-in-law Ernest and wife Elaine Tallman of Dorchester, sisters-in-law Marlene and Alan Parker of Toronto, Melba Honderich of New Hamburg, Shirley Honderich of Baden, and many nieces and nephews. Madeline was predeceased by her sister Miriam Tallman. Madeline was an active member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Petersburg and former member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, New Hamburg. Madeline was a National Board Member of Lutheran Women's Missionary League and taught vacation Bible School with LAMP for many years. She was a member of the Nithvalley Singers, former director of Ontario Junior Farmers and a founding representative of the Welcome Wagon in New Hamburg. She was the secretary at Grandview Public School, New Hamburg and was an independent travel agent in New Hamburg and travelled extensively all over the world. Family and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home , 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Thursday from 7-9 p.m., again Friday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral will take place on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Petersburg at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Richard Orlowski officiating. Interment in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Petersburg.
