Eleanor Laura (Wicker) Bradbury, 64, of Kendall Street, North Attleboro, died on Sunday, February 4, 2007 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro following a brief illness.

Born in Holyoke, Massachusetts on March 2, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Worth B. and Laura M. (Bazinet) Wicker. She was raised and educated in Holyoke where she graduated from high school and later graduated from Holyoke Community College having earned her degree in nursing.

She was employed as a home health care aide for the past 17 years.

Mrs. Bradbury moved to North Attleboro in 1978 from the Dorchester section of Boston where she had lived since 1962. Prior to moving to Boston, she resided in Holyoke.

Since moving to North Attleboro, Mrs. Bradbury was a member of the First Baptist Church where she served her church community as a member of the choir.

She was a former member of the North Attleboro Emblem Club and was a member of the North Attleboro Lodge of Elks – Lodge 1011.

A longtime volunteer, she frequently volunteered at the North Attleboro Senior Center.

Mrs. Bradbury enjoyed the time spent playing bingo and had a lifelong love for animals taking a particular interest in helping those less fortunate animals in need of tender love and care.

She leaves five children: Harold F. Calligan of North Attleboro; Joseph H. Calligan IV of North Attleboro; Laura Marie Calligan of Woonsocket, Rhode Island; Judith N. Bradbury of North Attleboro and Dawn Bradbury of Malden and four grandchildren. She was the sister of the late John Wicker and Worth Wicker.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Service Thursday, February 8, 2007 at 7:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the DYER-LAKE FUNERAL HOME, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, ¾ mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Robert Middleton, Jr., pastor of the First Baptist Church, North Attleboro, officiating.

Burial will be private.

Visitation has been respectfully omitted and an opportunity to greet family members will follow the Memorial Service as family and friends will be cordially invited to immediately join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshment at a location to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Bradbury's name may be made to the Friends of the Council of Aging, 204 Elm Street, North Attleboro, MA 02760.
