CURWENSVILLE - Barbara A. (Lightner) Sturgeon, 67, of Curwensville and formerly of Mahaffey passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Clearfield Hospital.
Born Oct 17, 1945, at Carlisle, she was a daughter of John F. Lightner and Hilda (Fleming) Lightner.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and will be missed by many friends.
Barbara was the last surviving member of her family.
She is survived by a son, Randy Lee and his wife, Michele, of Mahaffey; a daughter, Tracy Lee and her husband, Carlose De La Torre, of Seattle; and a granddaughter, Cassandra Edwards of Hagerstown, Md.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David Strugeon; an infant daughter; brothers, Francis Lightner, Merle "Shorty" Lightner; Nick Lightner, Donald "Tom" Lightner, Dale Lightner, John "June" Lightner Jr., Howard "Hen" Lightner and Philip " Butch" Lightner; and sisters, Helen "Sis" Mummert, Maysie Artley and Anna Mae Ishman.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Waldron Funeral Home, Mahaffey.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10, at the funeral home, with Pastor Doug Turner officiating.
Interment will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery.
