Odessa June McAlpin Cordell, 87, a resident of Cleveland, was born into eternity on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006.
She was a member of Stanfield Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John McAlpin and Lily Walker McAlpin; her husband, John Oliver Cordell; a son, Grover Lee Cordell; a daughter, Frances Cordell Harden; a brother, Curtis McAlpin; a sister, Pauline Walker; two sons-in-law: Ronnie Stepp and Hutie Harden; and two grandsons: Ryan Stepp and Bryan Stepp.
Survivors include two daughters: Alberta Stepp of Cleveland, and Margie Brown and husband, Bill, of Charleston; five sons and their spouses: William and Linda Cordell of Hixson, Ray and Karen Cordell of Georgetown, Carroll and Betty Cordell of Lupton City, Larry and Jackie Cordell of Georgetown, and Alvin and Donna Cordell of Cleveland; 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; one sister, Florine Russell Hughes of Soddy Daisy; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2006, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Revs. David Evans, Jackie Brown and Ric Oakwood officiating. Interment will follow in Stanfield Cemetery with Lamar Harden, John Harden, Mitch Harden, Ronnie Brown, Michael Cordell and Keith Cordell serving as pallbearers.
Her family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
