Residence Alexander County NC; 36 years old.
Enlisted on 2/25/1863 at Newton, Catawba County, NC, he was mustered into "E" Co. NC 32nd Infantry as a Private; Enlistment Bounty due.
Absent, Sick in Richmond, VA. hospital May & June and July & Aug 1863 Rolls.
Absent, on Sick Furlough at home Sept & Oct 1863 Roll.
Mortally wounded 5/10/1864 in the Battle of Spotsylvania Court House, VA; leg amputated; died of wounds.

The 32nd Infantry Regiment was organized at Drewry's Bluff, Virginia, in April, 1862, using the 1st North Carolina Infantry Battalion as its nucleus. Its companies were raised in the counties of Tyrrell, Nash, Camden, Northampton, Catawba, Bertie, Chatham, and Franklin.
