From Bible records now in the possession of Ann Draper Jenkins, Algernon was born 11/15/1833 and died 6/8/1900 (or 1905?). He was wounded in the Civil War and was a semi-invalid until his death. His wife was Mary Jane L. Mitchell from Greensville County, VA (near Emporia). They were married on 3/29/1860.
