Jimmy Edd Driver, 64, of Corsicana, passed away Feb. 9, 2011, at Navarro Regional Hospital. He was born Nov. 11, 1946, in Hester Grove, a community near Corsicana. Jimmy graduated from G.W. Jackson High School in 1966. He was a football star, he loved sports and was a good at playing all of them.
After he graduated he received a scholarship to Navarro Jr. College to play football, after Navarro he attend North Texas State University on another football scholarship. He later enlisted in the U.S. Army for two years and he served in the Vietnam War. He received honorable discharge.
He worked for Wolf Brand Chili for over 16 years and he later worked for True Value Company. He later became self employed and owner of the East Side Barber Shop.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Annie Driver; Son, Jimmy Edd Driver Jr.; brothers, Herman Driver Jr., and Joe Wayne Driver; and sisters, Bertha Ann Driver and Doris Jean Driver.
Survivors include two daughters, LIVING; two brothers, LIVING; two sisters, LIVING; two granddaughters, LIVING; special niece, LIVING; special nephews, LIVING; first cousin, Cathy Moore; numerous nieces and nephews; aunts, Rosie Madkin, Evelyn Richie, and Bee Cubit, all of Fort Worth; a very special friend, Joe Ann Bradley; best friend, James "Wimpy" Baptist; he is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from Noon to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, at M.R. Smith Parlor for Funerals.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at. Mount Olive Baptist Church, with the Rev. Alfred Cox officiating and Eld. Charles Washington as eulogist. Interment will be at Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery.
