Annie (Montgomery) Driver

Annie Montgomery Driver, 84, of Corsicana passed away Monday, Jan. 21, 2002 at Heritage Oaks Retirement Center in Corsicana. Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Friday at M.R. Smith Parlor for Funerals. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Baptist Church with Elder Charles Washington officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Memorial Park.

Mrs. Driver was born April 24, 1916 in Chatfield. She lived in Corsicana for over 60 years and was known as the best 7-Up Cake maker at Mount Olive Church. The cake melted in your mouth.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman W. Driver; daughters, Bertha A. Driver and Doris Driver; and sons, Herman Driver Jr. and Joe Driver.

Survivors include her sons, Jimmy Driver and Larry Driver, both of Corsicana, and Roger Driver of Beaumont; daughters, Dica Driver Weaver of Dallas and Rosie Driver Kelley of Corsicana; brothers, Hardy Montgomery and Hugh Knox, both of Corsicana; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.
