INDEPENDENCE, Va. -- Coy Wayne Collins, 75, of Sparta passed away Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Born April 1, 1925, in Independence to Coy Mack and Nannie Black Collins, he was a retired building contractor.
Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Doris and Ray Faircloth and daughter, Dee, Billie Jean and Keith McDaniel and two sons, Timmy and Danny Joe, and Dreama and Tim Wood and three sons, Lee, Luke and Brian, all of Winston-Salem; two sons and daughters-in-law, Coy Mack and Ann Collins and daughter, Jennifer, and son, Richard, of Winston-Salem, and Robert Franklin and Mary Collins and four daughters, Meredith, Bobbie Diane, Melinda and Kim, and son, Steve, of Rocky Mount; four sisters, Nannie Blevins of Emoryville, Pa., Edna Beaver of Wilmington, Del., Ellen Tickle and Bina Manuel, both of Wytheville, Va.; a brother, Frank Collins of Winston-Salem; and a sister-in-law, Kathleen Collins of Atlanta, Ga.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel in Independence with interment in Cox's Chapel cemetery. The Rev. Fred E. Jennings will officiate.
The family will receive friends an hour before the funeral service Monday. Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home in Independence is in charge of arrangements.
