Mrs. Frances Leftwich Tarpley Shelton, 91, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Blumenthal's Nursing Home in Greensboro, NC.

She served as a pastor's wife of the Cornerstone Conference of the Pentecostal Holiness Church for a total of 73 years.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, the Reverend Bennett Dodd Shelton, Sr., daughter Lydia Gail Wolfe-Johnson and her husband Dr. David Johnson, Son Bennett Dodd Shelton, Jr. (Danny Ray) and wife Janis J. Shelton, two granddaughters Allison Wolfe Oster and husband David Oster and Erin Gray Shelton Everhart and her husband Elliot Emery Everhart and one great-grandchild Adelaide Gray Everhart, age one.

Also, she is survived by sisters Dorothy Haley, Phyllis Tarpley Zinna and Ann Tarpley Rowan.

She was preceded in death by her father Phillip Arden Tarpley, mother Winnie Mae Childress Tarpley, her son Reverend Ralph Phillip Shelton and sisters, Louise Tarpley Ricketts, Lena Tarpley Stowe, Marie Tarpley VanAlst and Bernice Tarpley Kent.

A Service of Celebration was held on February 15, 2013 at the Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Dry Fork, VA with the Reverend Dr. Danny Penny of Stanley, NC, the Reverend Bishop Doyle G Marley and the Reverend Joe M Beck officiating.

The family and friends would like to express their sincere and deep gratitude to the staff at Blumenthal's Nursing home for their loving care and attention that Frances received while there.

Norris Funeral Services and Crematory, Danville, VA served the family.
