Douglas Leon Heath passed away at his residence on February 17, 2005. He was the son of George Douglas and Maurice (Dollar) Heath and was born in the
Huron Community.

Douglas was a sergeant in the Army serving as an air operations specialist during World War II performing duties in the China-Burma-India Theaters
recording departures and arrivals of airplanes coming into air base, keeping records of airplanes while in flight, keeping hourly status of all airplanes assigned to base, prepared flight forms, assigned crews to planes,
dispatched planes to destinations, and prepared operations orders.

He married Ann Melcher on July 28, 1950 at the Hillsboro Church of Christ. He worked as a foreman for Continental EMSCO. They lived in Odessa from 1950 to 1983 and then moved to Whitney in June of 1983 and opened D & A Super
Stop in 1984.

During his life he supported the American Legion and the 2604 Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Whitney Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann on October 28, 2004 and an infant son, Stephen Heath.

Survivors include his children, Karen Pearson and husband, David of Whitney; Mike Heath and wife, Sadie of Odessa, Dale Heath of Marble Falls; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
