Allen Rites Tomorrow
Mrs. Katie Stacey Allen, 74, Effingham, died yesterday afternoon at the Atchison hospital.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at the Stanton chapel with Elder Norman Doss of Kansas City, assisted by the Rev. Paul Osborn, Nortonville officiating. Burial will be in Pardee cemetery.
Members of the family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 tonight at the Stanton Mortuary.
Mrs. Allen was born Nov. 2, 1896, a daughter of Edward R. and Mary Ellen Hall Stacey, seven miles southeast of Effingham.
She attended Clingan school and was a member of the Seven Day Adventist church.
On March 7, 1920, she and James LeRoy Allen were married at the Seventh Day Baptist church in Nortonville. They observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1970. Mr. and Mrs. Allen farmed in the Farmington area for 20 years before moving to Effingham in 1959.
Surviving are Mr. Allen of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Inez Dunn, Nortonville, and Mrs. Jess (Ester) Walker, French Camp, Calif.; a brother, George Stacey, Enterprise, and nieces and nephews.
A sister, Mrs. Ellen Olson, preceded her in death.
The family has asked that memorials be given to the Seventh Day Baptist Missionary Society of Nortonville, designated to the Voice of Prophecy, or the American Cancer Society.
Contributions may be left at the Stanton mortuary.
