On Monday, 11 February 2013, Kazuo Ikeda, 94 years old, passed away in Arroyo Grande, California.
He was born on 29 June 1918 in King City, California and was the son of Juzo Ikeda and Sei Ikeda.
Kazuo graduated from Arroyo Grande High School.
During World War II, Kazuo and his family were interned at Gila Relocation Center.
He was one of the founders of the Arroyo Grande Babe Ruth Baseball League and has several fields in the area named in his honor and was inducted into the Arroyo Grande Eagle Athletic Foundation Hall of Fame.
Mr. Ikeda is survived by his wife of 62 years of marriage, Mitsuko (Ban) Ikeda; his children, Julie (Ikeda) Nishioka, Stan Ikeda, Patricia (Ikeda) Kawaguchi and Vard Ikeda.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Juzo Ikeda and Sei Ikeda; his siblings, Seirin Ikeda, Emiko Ikeda and Saburo Ikeda.
