Frederick E. Abel

Frederick E. Abel, 78, of McComb, MS passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the Louisiana War Veterans Home Southeast in Reserve, LA. Graveside services will be Sunday afternoon at 2:00 PM in Hollywood Cemetery in McComb. Dr. Woody Rimes will officiate.

Mr. Abel was born June 3, 1934 in Lexington, MS. He was the son of Clarence Houston Abel & Mary Dunn Abel.

He was a U. S. Air Force Veteran having served our great country during the Korean War. After serving in the military he worked construction most of his life and was a member of the Carpenters Union.

Mr. Abel was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Judge Clarence Houston Abel & Evander James Abel.

Survivors include his sons, Guy F. Abel & wife Cristy of Pittsburg, CA and Keith W. Abel of Hahnville, LA; daughters, Cynthia A. Jackson & husband Kevin of New Orleans, Anna A. Hymel & husband Ralph of Hahnville, LA, Ella A. Brasher & husband Gary of Luling, LA & Allison Abel of New Orleans: one brother, David Abel & wife Evelyn of Irmo, S.C.; six granddaughters and 1 great-granddaughter; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
